Revolving Door Reading Series turns 1-YO this month! And I'm amazed by all of the brilliant words, art, and music we've featured. We're lucky. We've been able to create a community. It's been an awesome year. So, we hope you'll join us for our birthday party at Red Kiva on 27 October, at 7:30p.m. The evening is a celebration of words, art, and music, with features Kevin Coval and Candace Marie, spontaneous readings from past features, FathomDJ, drink specials, and goodie bags. I can't believe how quickly this semester is going. I swear, it was just September. The weeks keep getting away from me. Halloween is next week, and I keep thinking about Halloween in CA. When dressing-up actually meant something. It was awesone. We celebrated on Santa Monica Ave. It was a block party on steroids. The costumes were so fierce. So original. I suppose Halloween will always leave me a little homesick.
I've been listening to Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" on repeat for like a week now. What can I say. It was the 80's. She's awesome. Her voice is sensational. Her black dress rocks. And those legs. Take a gander...
