So, I'm always a little late to the next big thing. But, I'm sure it's better than never—The xx were pitchfork's belle of the ball, says the dude on Sound Opinions who had their interview on loop for three days. Anyhow, I played the heck out of The xx this weekend. And I must say I’m in love, again. This band is like the bittersweet taste of The Cure meets El Perro del Mar, and they make sexy, sad grooves all night long. I listened while gardening and grocery shopping, talking to mom, cleaning the apartment, and wedding planning. And I have one complaint: this album is only 38 minutes long.
